Individual TherapyIndividual therapy is the opportunity to collaborate and work one-on-one with a qualified therapist in a nonjudgmental, safe, caring, confidential environment. It is used to process life events, develop and work towards reaching personalized goals, and to identify and overcome barriers that keep people from having a high quality of life. This may occur through a wide variety of therapy types including but not limited to Sensorimotor psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), sand tray, art and/or play therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Therapists often use a combination of therapy types to create a tailored treatment plan with each client.
Group TherapyGroup therapy can help reduce shame, isolation, and automatic negative beliefs. The group dynamic can help people feel supported as they move forward in their growth, healing, and recovery from trauma. Activites in group therapy promote communication, trust, exploration, and personal growth. Activities are often experiential and may involve movement, dancing, painting, role playing, wilderness adventures, and other techniques used to strengthen trust within the group and develop confidence in the self. All group members must agree to protect the identities of fellow memebrs and keep the content of each session confidential.

Trauma is.....Trauma is an event that overwhelms the central nervous system, altering the way we process and recall memories. Trauma is not the story of something that happened back then. It's the current imprint of that pain, horror, and fear living inside people. - Bessel Van Der Kolk
Trauma is not what happened to you, it is the residue of what lives inside of us in terms of body sensations, panic reactions, tension in the body, impluse control, shutting down, or explosions. Art TherapyArt therapy involves use of creative techniques such as drawing, painting collage, coloring, or sculpting to help people to express themselves artistically and examine the psychological undertones in their arts. The symbols and metaphors often found in art can lead people to better understand their feelings and behaviors and process events, so that they can move on to resolve deeper issues.

Sensorimotor PsychotherapySensorimotor psychotherapy draws upon the body's innate intelligence to heal. When words are not enough to help heal, a somatic approach to trauma treatment is effective. It is a body-based talk therapy, integrating current findings from neuroscience to transform traumatic memories into strengths and resources. In, each session we aim for an act of triumph. It helps clients develop resources within themselves to self regulate and move out of the fight, flight, or freeze response into the prefrontal conrtex where they can think clearly and geel appropriately. People become less reactive and more proactive in their relationships.

EMDREMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a neuroscience-based therapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. It is an extensively researched method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and panic disorders. EMRD does not require talking in detail or completing homework. It focuses on changing the emotions, thoughts, and behaviors resulting from the distressing issue and allows the brain to resume it's natural healing process.
